1 month on

Have been in touch with all the parents to see how things are 1 month on and to send them some sunflower seeds in our specially logo'ed packets.  The idea is for the girls to plant them next year and send us pictures as well as tell us how they have been growing as Brownies.

Also sent them a disk of amazing photos from the event and a very special Chief Guide's badge which came from Gill (and Julie) thanking them for their postcards.

We now definitely have 4 placed in local units and I have sent their £24 annual subs on for them.  I've updated Go! to show that they have moved.

As forms come back in from others, confirming the girls want to stay in Holiday Brownies, they are being allocated their own personal Brown Owl from amongst the student leadership team to keep in touch and help them progress with the programme.  Each leader is going to contact them about once a month (or as they see appropriate) and will encourage them to tackle badges and the Brownie Adventure.  Hopefully this small commitment will work out well and flex around the student's time OK.  We can also make sure the girls hear about county events and book and go things they can do without a unit.

We've booked a day in the Xmas holidays for them to come in to work on a choice of badges, have some fun and go to the local theatre to the panto together.  That should be a nice way to kick off the holidays

.Report is complete and has been sent out.

Accounts are complete

Presentation given at County Planning Day and already we are hearing about plans for similar ventures in different parts of the County.  We've offered to fund T-shirts and possibly pay for transport to Deer Park for a day out if they wish.

Our PRA has given some counties in our region a taster of Holiday Brownies and we're getting organised to present at the Region Growing Guiding conference in November.

A national employer who heard about one of his staff taking part has given a large donation so that should provide more opportunities to more girls.  It would have allowed us to fully fund 6 girls so perhaps that is something we can think about next time to help target harder to reach areas.
